Mis intereses académicos se centran en Genética Evolutiva y su relación con otras disciplinas como Genética Cuantitativa y de Poblaciones. En los últimos años he comenzado a trabajar particularmente en Genética Vegetal, abordando problemas tanto de ciencia básica como de ciencia aplicada (e.g mejoramiento genético en eucaliptos). Para tales fines, utilizo diversas aproximaciones metodológicas como ensamblado de genomas y transcriptomas, análisis de SNPs, análisis genético-poblacionales, reconstrucciones filogenéticas y pruebas de selección.
